Welcome Back Letter from Principal Hohman

Hello students and families and welcome back to the new school year!  All of us here at JVA are excited to have you with us. I have a few thoughts about the first days of school that I want to share.

  • Get involved in your classes right from the start on August 16th.  Don’t procrastinate!  Log in, look around, ask questions, and participate in the activities waiting there for you. By getting involved the very first day, you are instilling the habits of mind and work ethic that will serve you well throughout the school year.
  • Get your workspace at home figured out and set up.  Having a place to “do school” on off-campus days is very important.  Keep this space neat and organized.
  • Get your school schedule set and post it in your workspace at home.  Having a consistent schedule, at least at first, will establish the habits of mind that you need for continued success.
  • Participate in the discussions and groups!  We want you to be an active member of our school community.
  • Have fun and be excited to learn!  You choose your attitude, and we want you to choose happiness and positivity.
  • Get off to a strong start and keep up the momentum and success will be in reach for each of you.  See you at the Welcome Back online assembly at 9 am  on August 16th.
