Outdoor Lab - 6th Grade

Outdoor Lab

WHAT IS OUTDOOR LAB?
Outdoor Lab Schools have been enriching the lives of 6th grade and high school students in Jefferson County for more than 50 years. With more than 6,000 students served each year and well over 350,000 alumni the 58 year old program, Outdoor Lab is the longest continually running outdoor education program in the western United States. Students are immersed in an outdoor academic setting for five days where they spend their time learning about themselves and how they fit into the world around them.

Outdoor Lab is September 30th - October 4th at Mt. Evans this year.
Our full-time 6th graders join Deane Elementary for a week at Outdoor Lab each year.

WHAT IS TAUGHT AT OUTDOOR LAB?
Mount Evans and Windy Peak Outdoor Lab Schools give students the opportunity to explore and experience subjects such as earth science, wildlife biology, astronomy, and forestry in a unique mountain setting. By engaging the students in problem solving, team building, decision-making and social interaction, the Outdoor Lab program helps to prepare Jeffco students for successful futures.
